Khajuraho, India

Some say they are Kama Sutra, others don’t know what to say.

In fact, these Hindu and Jain temples in Khajuraho were build in 10th to 12th centuries, and quite many of the statues and reliefs have erotic theme. They are all masterpieces of sculpture, no matter about the subject, and it is listed as UNESCO World Heritage site.

In January 2003 I was admiring the temples, and outside the site Indian men were admiring me – blond female backpacker alone – with glossy eyes and images of the temples in their mind. I wasn’t flattered, believe me.
