Ultra marinus, beyond the sea.
Ultramarine, azurite, cobalt – pigment colours on which I would describe the Atlantic ocean near the Equator. Longitudes and latitudes were approximately S1° 482′ W 37°860′. The feeling of sailing on the open ocean is something one can hardly describe other than with colours and maybe music.
The sound splashing of dolphins speeding trough the water together with the boat, wind flapping on the sails, the hot sun sizzling on the skin, the taste of the salt, and the shades of blue. That’s what I remember the day before crossing the Equator on sea, in March 2006.
