Tuscany is full of all kinds of towers. The most famous, obviously, is the one in Pisa. To be honest with you, that one is not so special at all in my opinion. Or maybe it has suffered some inflation due to all kind of souvenir kitsch.
I preferred Siena towers much more. They are beautiful inside and out, and much more authentic. But oh man my muscles were sore after serious tower-climbing in May 2008.
